BUYERS
Buyers from Melbourne’s leafy east are flocking north to more affordable homes, setting up a hot spring market in suburbs like Reservoir.
Barry Plant Reservoir director Harry Kontossis said young professionals who grew up in pricey eastern suburbs were looking to Melbourne’s north for an affordable first home.
“People from Camberwell, Hawthorn and Kew who have been renting in the east are now buying in Reservoir,” he said.
“They’ve realised they can still buy a lovely home in the area for $750,000.”
