Home Sellers
GEELONG home sellers will start this year’s spring selling season in the best shape as new data shows even more eyes are on property in the region.
The new hotpriceproperty.com.au data shows that Geelong suburbs are some of the most popular in the country, with listings attracting thousands of views from potential buyers on average.
The statistics, which are a leading indicator of demand and future price growth, point to buoyant conditions for sellers this spring.
The selling season kicks off today with 34 homes to be auctioned with about 500 listed in today’s real estate section to be open for inspection.
The original California bungalow at 198 High St, Belmont, is scheduled to be auctioned on September 1 at 10.30 am.
“Geelong is just booming at the minute,” Ms. Conisbee said.
“Not just in price growth, which is probably one of the best in Australia, but there’s a lot of young people who are looking at Geelong as an affordable place to buy a home,” Ms. Consibee said.
“It’s not just first-home buyers, but young families too.”
Ms. Conisbee said while most start by looking for areas most like the inner suburbs of Melbourne with period homes, strip shopping villages and near train stations, they’ve started to branch out and consider all their options.
